Miami Valley Housing Opportunities manages the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rent subsidies for the City of Dayton and Dayton-Kettering-Montgomery County Continuum of Care (CoC). The Rental Assistance Program allows MVHO to assist 500 formerly homeless persons to live in independent housing.
Eligible applicants must come from the Montgomery County Front Door referral process. The Front Door assessors are the Gettysburg Gateway for Men, Daybreak, the St. Vincent de Paul Gateway for Women and Families, and the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter. If an applicant is not staying at one of the shelters but is living on the streets, that person must have an assessment completed by a PATH outreach worker.
