June 24, 2021 – Access Center for Independent Living Awarded $25,000 Grant to Provide Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Training to Individuals with Paralysis
Dayton, Ohio- The Access Center for Independent Living (ACIL) has been awarded a grant through the Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council to provide training to individuals with paralysis disabilities, their families, and caregivers on emergency and disaster preparedness planning. The training will be conducted both virtually and in-person for those who are interested in attending. The program will begin in mid-July.
“The 2019 Memorial Day Tornadoes, the tragic mass shooting in the Oregon District, and now the pandemic has shown us how imperative it is for individuals with disabilities to be prepared for an emergency or disaster, “Executive Director, Jeremy Caffee stated.
